“The fact that we are starting to offer natural gas to Latvian households is a logical step for our company – for five years Elenger has been operating in Latvia as one of the leading gas suppliers in the business segment, now we want to take part in the liberated household market too. We believe that the entry of a new market player will certainly benefit gas consumers in Latvia, providing people with the opportunity to choose the most suitable supplier,“ said Dāvis Skulte, the CEO of Elenger Latvija.

„Elenger can offer the customer a competitive price and a reliable supply, as we buy gas in large quantities directly from Western sources. We are the only natural gas trader in the Baltic region that has secured access to both LNG terminals – the Klaipėda terminal in Lithuania and the Inkoo terminal in Finland. We have planned the delivery of 10 LNG cargoes by autumn and possibly more in the 4th quarter,” said Skulte.

Elenger has signed agreements with LNG terminals to bring a total of ten gas cargoes for its customers by the fall of this year – three deliveries from the United States and Norway have already arrived in Lithuania’s Klaipeda port in January and March, and seven more will arrive in Finland’s Inkoo port in spring and summer. Last year, Elenger procured five large shiploads of gas through the port of Klaipeda.

Lately, Elenger announced the expansion to Poland, where the company sells gas directly to the end consumers as well as to a wholesale distributors and trades on the local gas exchange.

Elenger offers customers natural gas in the form of pipeline gas, compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG). The company is actively developing a renewable energy portfolio in the form of solar energy and biomethane production and sales.

Elenger operates in Finland, the Baltic states and Poland. The group has a total of 50,000 customers. Elenger is the largest privately owned energy company in the Finnish-Baltic region. In native market Estonia the company carries the Eesti Gaas brand name.
